Electric mountain bike tour tips around the Hochkönig
A variety of mountain bike trails invite you to explore the magnificent mountain landscape around Hochkeil and the Hochkönig. You will find the marked tours on the bike map soon in the link tip.
The panoramic tour around the Hochkeil; easy, approx. 8 km
A leisurely gourmet tour, with a beautiful view of Mühlbach. From the Schweizerhütte alpine dairy, the gravel road takes you past the baby lifts, in a constant up and down around the Hochkeil.
Under the Saukar parking lot you get back to the main road. From there you can either go to the Arthurhaus or continue the tour to the Four Huts or to Mühlbach. This route is also great for running.
To the “Four Huts”; medium, approx. 11 km
The tour branches off at the Mandlwand federal road in the direction of the Kopphütte. You can either drive down directly from Arthurhaus via the federal road or already drive around the Hochkeil. In about 20 min it goes uphill to the Kopphütte. Afterwards, the trail continues on a gravel road past the Koppalm to the Widdersberg alpine pasture area.
There, the well-known Four Huts, which are actually five (because one was taken by the avalanche and two were rebuilt), are perched in front of the mighty 900-meter-high weather wall. The best thing to do there is to take a short break and enjoy some tasty alpine pasture products.
To the summit of the Hochkeil; steep, approx. 3 km
A short but crisp tour on the Hochkeil. From the upper Arthurhaus parking lot, turn right and follow the gravel road. At the beginning it goes steeply up to Troiboden with the small hut. The path then winds upwards in long serpentines. The gravel road leads to the top station of the Rosswieß lift. The last hundred meters to the summit cross are once again a good challenge for balance and driving technique.
